Emerging from the scummy clubs of Boise, Left-handed Habit broke into the punk scene in 1980 with their debut album, Taking Candy from Strangers. The band's latest album, Big White Van, channels Sugar Bam Bam's easily-digested hooks with effervescent strumming to fashion a solid record packed with ultra-catchy gems. With standout tracks like "Here Comes the Ice Cream Truck", look for Left-handed Habit to be a major player in the Northwest punk landscape for at least another thirty years.
Yes, you. Looks like you're interesed in Hipsterbait. Why? Maybe it's too many curly mustaches. Maybe the non fat chai tea is making you bloated. Maybe it's an overdose triangles, or indie folk music. But that's for you to decide.
What matters, is that you're willing to grow. You're here, and that's what counts. So let's skip the pleasantries, and get right to this.
We're playing a game, and you're invited to join us. It's called Hipsterbait. And the plan is to bring back Rock and Roll, one urban lumberjack at a time.
You can find the locations of cassettes currently in play on the Find Cassettes page. Click the icons on the map for the GPS location or use the text eld. Get to the location before the other hipsters do. Snooze and lose as they say.
Scan the QR code on the cassette cover to access the music. There are two songs on each tape. You can also play them in any cassette player - if you are hip enough to have one. You will also find more info on the site about the game and the cassettes. You need a Player Account to download the songs onto a desktop computer. Accounts cannot be created without first finding a cassette. That's the deal.
Now that you have the the music, and a HB Player Account, find a new location to bait the next unsuspecting hipster. You could keep the cassette all to yourself, but that would just show everybody how easy you are to catch. You're way cooler than that. Be a good sport and re-hide it. Really.
As you can see, it's actually quite simple. You'll need one those fancy mobile smart phones to do it though. If you don't have one, you better get used to watching. You'll be wept for.
There's always more information, WTFAQS, and how to sign up as a band on the following page.
So get going already - go find some bait, go bait someone, go master it already.
Well, for starters, a head start. You'll get in the game in the order you sign up. Are you #55? or are you #3002? You won't know until we start.
But there's always perks of being someone's first, amiright? ;)
